STEAM Camp

All Day Camp

Through creative play and collaborative learning we will explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics and how they are all intertwined. Haley is a lead teacher at RVNS with a rich background in science communication.  Two sessions of STEAM Camp will be offered this summer to accommodate different age ranges.

I Like to Move It, Move It: Bodies in Motion

Come and join a camp based on motion. Summer is the perfect time to acknowledge our body capacities, improve balance skills and gain more strength along with confidence. Through several games and activities we will practice creative movements, different dance styles and yoga. Taking advantage of the natural environment that surrounds us we will go on adventures to discover new ways of walking, jumping and dancing. Pia is a dance teacher and an teaching assistant at RVNS.

Nature Artists!

Let’s get creative! Children will explore, collect, and use materials from nature to create crafts each day. Catie is a teaching assistant at RVNS and a yoga instructor. Two sessions of Nature Artists! will be offered this summer to accommodate different age ranges.

Healthy Minds

All Day Camp

This camp will help foster self-awareness in children as they practice mindfulness in nature, learn how to identify and recognize comfortable and uncomfortable feelings, learn about the brain and develop ways to gain greater self-regulation. There will also be time for imaginative and active play in nature, vital for healthy minds. Jen is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist with 16 years experience counseling youth and families throughout school, home, agency and private practice settings. She is currently a teaching assistant at River Valley Nature School and offers a Healthy Minds class to the RVNS students.

Forest Immersion: Dragon Camp!

Here Be Dragons! A week filled with storytelling, art, play, and imagination. We will create dragons, dragon habitats, and potions, and make maps and train for a quest. Just maybe, the dragons of Catbird farm will visit us! The forest is filled with magical possibilities! Denise has nearly two decades of experience connecting nature, art, and learning in a homeschool community and is a lead teacher at RVNS.

Yoga Immersion

Children will have the opportunity to dive into yoga and self awareness through movement, meditation, music, breath work, and time for self reflection. Catie is a teaching assistant at RVNS and a yoga instructor.

Storybook Camp

Each day we’ll dive into the world of a beloved children’s storybook! From The Very Hungry Caterpillar to the tale of The Lorax, we will explore, play, create, and even snack our way through 5 different children’s classics. Catie is a teaching assistant at RVNS and a yoga instructor.
